Information About the Marietta Riverfront Roar
The Marietta Riverfront Roar was established in 2000 in conjunction with the Powerboat Superleague (APR) and the Union International Motonautique (UIM), with a clear idea of providing local residents and businesses with a fun, entertaining and exciting weekend of powerboat racing and events.
About the APR Superleague
Since 1986, the American Powerboat Racing Superleague has conducted over 123 racing events, coast-to-coast. Over the past 21 years, the series has raced on two continents and in four countries. An estimated 700,000 fans watch the action up-front during the season with another 2.5 million viewing the action during the water based segments on selected broadcasts on the national U.S. television program "War on the Water" as well as programs via regional network markets, including the internationally acclaimed "Race World Series" out of the UK.
A privately owned partnership, APR Events Group and its national circuit Powerboat Superleague, is committed to producing professional events where spectators can expect to see exciting championship racing and equally important, where local producers and local sponsors can receive value for their participation. They work with the community host by partnering with a non-profit organization for program enhancement, serving as a catalyst for funding the organization's area projects, or by focusing specific attention on a community need. They also work with festivals, supporting and providing entertainment.
Powerboat Superleague is a member of and sanctioned by the American Power Boat Association (APBA) the recognized authority (since 1903) in the United States for amateur and professional boat racing. They are a member of the Union International Motonautique (UIM), the world-sanctioned body for international events.
